About our Animal Care Services
Wellness Exams
A yearly physical exam is very important to your pet’s overall health. The doctor will examine your pet from nose to tail noting concerns along the way. After the exam, we will discuss any health changes and address any questions or concerns you may have. Some patients may need more personalized care involving additional exams throughout the year, we will determine the frequency of exams based on the individual needs of your pet.
Preventative Care
The goal of preventive care is to keep your pet happy and healthy, by taking a proactive approach to your pet’s veterinary care, we can prevent issues before they become major problems which not only is better for their health, but can also save money. It is much more cost effective to prevent diseases than treat them. Vaccinations are a basic form of preventive care because they help to prevent illnesses like Canine Leptospirosis and Feline Leukemia along with many other serious diseases. The team at SRAC will create a plan specifically tailored to your pet- it may include a comprehensive blood panel to check liver and kidney values or possibly a dental cleaning to help with bad breath.
Nutrition Consultations
Good nutrition has a huge impact on your pet’s health and quality of life. There are so many options when looking at nutrition- dry or canned, store-bought or homemade, commercial brand or holistic- it can be very confusing. Millions of dollars are spent on pet food marketing each year. With the abundance of skewed information along with countless choices of food – it can be hard to make an informed decision. We are here to help. We can discuss your pet’s medical history and lifestyle- then go through different nutrition options to find the one that best fits your pet’s needs.
In-House Laboratory and Diagnostic Testing
Our onsite laboratory equipment means less time waiting for results and faster diagnosis and treatment for your pet. We have the ability to run comprehensive bloodwork, urinalysis, and heartworm checks as well as many other tests. Additional specialized tests are sent out daily to a national veterinary diagnostic laboratory.
Surgical Laser / Electrocautery
These specialized pieces of surgical equipment cauterize as they cut which causes less bleeding and less trauma to the tissue. Our surgical laser and electrocautery unit allow us to perform procedures with less complications than traditional surgical techniques.
